Incredible Roman pizza and possibly the best carbonara in London, what’s not to love?

You know a restaurant is good when it’s packed every single night of the week. Waiters shouting in Italian, lit by candlelight, and set in a traditional restaurant, Taverna Trastevere on St John’s hill is exactly where you’ll want to eat for a taste of Rome. Their pizza is thin and delicious, their meat dishes are incredible (the lamb is incredible) but the true star of the show is their pasta. They specialise in the 4 traditional pasta dishes of Rome; Cacio e Pepe, Alla Gricia, Carbonara, and Amatriciana. All are fantastic. There’s outdoor seating in when the weather is mild, but book early as they are packed every night of the week.
