The Rose & Crown

2 The Polygon, London SW4 0JG / roseandcrownclapham.com

If you want a bloody excellent roast south of the river, look no further than The Rose & Crown.

The Rose and Crown lives in the square in Clapham Old Town with all the nice pubs. The square is called something stupid like the pentagon (edit: the polygon) and is a classic pub downstairs, with some cracking grub upstairs in the dining room. As far as pubs go, the food here is really elevated and, dare I say, nicely pretentious; as the old M&S adage goes, “this isn’t just a Scotch Egg… it’s a Togarashi Spiced Scotch Egg”.

If you’re looking for a cracking roast south of the river, I would wager this is up there.

Aged Beef Tartare, spiced onions, beef dripping mayo & malted crumpet

Togarashi Spiced Scotch Egg, katsu ketchup

30 Day Dry Aged British Sirloin Steak, Béarnaise sauce, farmhouse butter mash
